Andrea Lowes (she/her)

Lawyer & Senior Investigator

Andrea is a Senior Workplace Investigator and conducts independent external workplace investigations into allegations of general and code-based harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, including unconscious bias and microaggressions, fraud, theft, privacy breaches, and other misconduct.

Andrea’s approach to all parties and witnesses is balanced, fair and trauma-informed. She builds rapport with each interviewee and ensures that each investigation is conducted with transparency, confidentiality, and respect. Andrea produces defensible reports that clearly set out the evidence obtained, whether oral, documentary or other evidence, detailed fact-finding including credibility assessments, and an analysis of the evidence and how she reached her findings of fact. When requested, Andrea also provides an assessment of whether applicable workplace policies have been breached.

Andrea has extensive investigations experience in private practice, government oversight, and self-regulated professions. Her diverse professional background provides her with the skills necessary to address concerns ranging from the most straightforward, to those involving multiple parties and complex and sensitive issues.

Prior to joining Mortimer Khoraych, Andrea was a workplace investigator at a national leading workplace investigations firm. She has also served as the Director of Professional Conduct for the College of Dental Hygienists Ontario and as an Investigator for The Office of the Ombudsman of Ontario.

Andrea obtained her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Ontario bar in 2005. Andrea graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Andrea is a member of the Investigations Committee Roster at the College of Teachers of Ontario.
